2004 - 2005 Chapter Year

In January 2004, Darby Kelso, working closely with Karen Eng and Irene
Jarvis, submitted all necessary forms and information to Beta Sigma Phi (BSP)
International to Friendly Venture an online chapter and a dream became a
reality.
That dream was ONLINE LAMBDA (OLL)
chapter of BSP.
A membership cap of twenty-five (25) was set and Darby Kelso began recruiting
members through the BSP web site by posting OLL information and an
application form.
The first OLL Interim Board consisted of Darby Kelso, Georgia Phillips,
Valerie Pendergrass, Debby Gray, Ann Hufford, Donna Parker-Hanner and
Carolyn Ward.
The interim board members began planning, recruiting members and organizing
in February 2004 with the first official interim board meeting in April 2004.

Darby Kelso ~ Interim chairman and organizer and Cyber Council
Georgia Phillips ~ minutes, by-laws, standing rules and traditions with Valerie
Pendergrass
Valerie Pendergrass ~ by-laws, standing rules and traditions with Georgia;
website along with Judith Burke
Debby Gray ~ assisting with recruiting by posting info on BSP website
Carolyn Ward ~ keeping track of Lambda history with Georgia's help and some
preliminary yearbook work
The OLL meetings actually began in May 2004 and began flourishing each month
thereafter! The first organized meeting of OLL was in May 2004 with Darby
Kelso as chairman and moderator. It was a get to know you meeting with
each
member submitting stories, poems, recipes and general information on themselves.
The OLL Interim Board voted to
have an Interim Sunshine Keeper as well as an
Interim Special Sister Keeper until elections are held in September.
Interim
Sunshine Keeper is Donna Parker-Hanner and Interim Special Sister Keeper is
Ann Hufford. Special Sisters were assigned in May 2004 and will be kept
until May 2005.
All OLL members were asked to submit suggestions for our theme and motto.
The OLL chosen theme is "Fairies" with the chosen motto being
"Catching the Stars of Friendship".
The OLL membership began to flourish and by the end of May consists of the
following members:

The consensus of the OLL Interim Executive Board was to hold OLL meetings on
the third (3rd) Sunday of each month at 3:30 p.m. Central Standard Time. OLL
met its cap of twenty-five (25) members in June 2004 with Judy Burke (California),
and Dianna LaFever (Florida).
In August 2004, the OLL membership voted and approved Irene Jarvis as an
Active Honorary Member and given the special title of Honorary Fairy God Sister.
>This was done because of her position with International and the fact that she
is affiliated with OLB.
Two (2) OLL sisters have received the PACE award. Darby Kelso received
the
PACE award on Founder's Day 2004 and Bette Boggess received the PACE award on
Founder's Day 2004. OLL's honorary God Sister, Irene Jarvis, has also received
the Pace Award.

Georgia Phillips was elected the first elected OLL Woman of the Year(2004-2005).
Darby Kelso was elected OLL Sweetheart (2004-2005) and
P.A.C.E. (2004-2005)
